The Ceremony of Birth

In the world where Jonas lives, a woman doesn't give birth to her own child. She and her husband are "assigned" a child. We believe that the reason for this is because that the community might be afraid of having an over populated community. You also never know if a parent might not want a child because it's not "perfect" like the community expects it to be.
